Closets, pantries, stairs and the back of a cabinet rarely have a light of their own, and in winter you end up getting dressed and putting things away in the dark. These are slim rechargeable LED bars that switch on when you move in front of them and off again about 20 seconds after you leave.
There is no wiring. Stick the thin metal plate up with its adhesive strip, and the light holds onto it by magnet. Pull it down to charge over USB, then put it straight back.
Three settings
Motion, for closets and stairs; always on, when you want steady light; and off. A small light on the end shows red while it charges and green when it's full.
What it will not do
It is a task light, not a room light: bright enough to see the shelf or the next step, not to read by across a room. How long a charge lasts depends on how often it's triggered, so a busy hallway needs charging more often than a linen closet.
