Most doors leave a gap at the bottom, and in winter that's where the cold gets in and the warm air slips out. You feel it at your ankles. This is a flexible silicone strip that sticks to the bottom of the door and closes the gap. The soft flap rides along the floor as the door swings, so it still opens and shuts normally.

On a bedroom or office door it also cuts down the light and hallway noise that come in underneath.

Fitting it

Each strip is 39 inches long and 2 inches tall, and cuts to width with scissors. Clean and dry the bottom of the door, peel the backing and press it on. Warming the adhesive with a hair dryer first helps it grip. There are two strips in the pack: one each for two doors.

What it will not do

It closes the gap under a door, not around the frame; drafts at the sides or top need weatherstripping. It won't make up for a very uneven floor, and on thick carpet the flap may drag, so check the swing before you stick it down. If you remove it later from a painted door, the adhesive can lift some paint.
